Regular Art Journaling
Art from the Heart - Harrogate, UK

30th January 2016
14th February 2016
23rd March 2016

Come and join Kate in these regular, monthly, art journaling class. Kate knows that the only way to maintain creativity is to keep art journaling lots, and on a regular basis, because the more you create the more creative you become! Kate will explore a different theme or technique during each session and lead you on a colourful, creative (and messy) journey!
Click *here* for details.
Required: Art journal or sketch book.

Sunday 17th January

Come and discover the grungy and more expressive side of art journaling. Sometimes you want to go a bit further in your art journal and truly express yourself through colour, marks and words.  These pages may be edgy, grungy and even a little ugly, but they will represent YOU. Kate will talk you through some mark making techniques and help you to loosen up with your art style by freely creating with wild colour and carefree mark making!
Bring an art journal!
Optional: Paints and various colours are provided in the studio, but feel free to bring along any personal favourites such as coloured pencils.

Planners are all the rage … had you noticed?!  Planners are an essential part of life and even if you use the calendar on your smart phone you can’t beat good old fashioned pen and paper! But planners can be desperately dull, so lets liven up our planners with stickers, washi tape, doodles, stamping and colour! Let’s make our planners a more interesting place for our to-do lists, shopping lists, errands, appointments, and general memory keeping.
If you have one, you may bring a planner such as a Filofax, or a Midori, but Kate will show you how to make a simple planner cover known as a fauxdori, with some very simple stitching, as a place to keep your notebooks and planners.
Optional: Scraps of fabric will be available on the day, but if you have some favourite fabric, bring it along with you.

I'll be teaching an art journaling workshop here using DecoArt, as well as demoing and make-and-takes!

Thurs 31st March 2016

Good things come in small packages, and this is no exception! Decorate a large matchbox, and then make a cute concertina journal before filling it with pattern and colour. We’ll use acrylic paints, stamps. Stencils, pastels, collage … and anything else we feel like!
Due to its size it is possible to complete this little package of goodness in a single workshop, and when complete it is the perfect size for your handbag ready for some extra journaling when the mood strikes!

Well I've had the most enjoyable day today. I really had a lot of fun at Art from the Heart (AFTH), .... it should be dished out as therapy ..... I sang all the way home in the car on cloud nine! The paint-ier my hands (and face) got today the happier I became.  Kate Crane was of course on top form again drawing out the secret artist inside you. I'm always surprised about all the creative things I've made when I get home. If you've not been for a class there, then you should seriously think about having a go.

We're back home from England! We've had a great workshop from Kate Crane! Kate thanks for this gorgeous weekend!!

That was a fantastic fun-filled weekend, thanks

It really was a great day - lots of fab techniques, the chance to play with new products and a really nice
group of people :-)

Thank you Kate for another fab day teaching us all how to draw faces.

Awesome day Kate - thanks - I'm  pleased I drew something other than cartoonish stuff!!! Fab day.

Thanxs Kate for getting me addicted to another technique.

Thanks Kate for another amazing class.

We all did amazing pages, Kate brings out the best in us.

We had a fab day playing with the new stampotique stamps!!  Thanks Kate Crane for and awesome day and for sharing your new stamps!

I had a really fantastic time. It's the people, the teacher, and the environment, it just brings out the best in all of us. Thanks for the brilliant tips Kate, I'll never forget them.
