Not sure why, but I go through phases of working in a particular journal, and at the moment I am stuck on my mini Moleskine. For those of you who have been asking, my Moleskine is a small Sketchbook measuring just 9 x 14 cm when closed (on Amazon UK here). Working on a page this size has its own challenges, but also its own rewards, and personally I love working small (er .... sometimes!)
I used Amsterdam Standard acrylic paints by Talens (LOVE those paints), and some of my own carved stamps in the background. Talking of paints ... have you seen Dina Wakley's new range of paints for Ranger? OH MY! Seriously can't wait for those ..... out in March and I'm counting the days!
This face was drawn by me in my Art Doodle Love book by Dawn Sokol, and then scanned for future use. I love re-using my own art on my pages.
And the words, which are typed on my vintage manual typewriter, are all about my slightly 'English' tendencies to bottle up my emotions ....stiff upper lip and all that ... which is all well and good, but eventually these emotions can rise to the surface and its not pretty. But hey, this is my art journal and I can say what I like. If I can't be honest with myself then what's the point?!
I'll be teaching a mini art journaling class on Saturday at Art from the Heart. Ooooh, can't wait! A whole day of getting painty ;-) Byee for now!
